Interacting with Posts


Beneath the content of the post are buttons you can use to interact with it. They are:


Responses: Hover over the circular thumb icon below the post to see the six emoticons you can click to respond to the post: Like, Genius, WOW!, Tell Me More, Master of Your Identity, and Laughing & Learning. If other students have clicked emoticon responses, they will be counted here by type. 


Tip: Each identity can only have one emoticon response to an individual post. Clicking another emoticon changes your previous choice.


Note: On mobile devices, click the thumb icon to pull up the emoticon response menu. 


Comment Counter: The number of comments other identities have left on this post will appear in the comment counter in the small speech bubble. Click this button to expand all comments below the post.


Bookmark: Click this button to save a post to your collection of bookmarks so you can find it later. 


Tip: If you do not have time to write a comment now but want to return to this post easily, this is a handy way to find it again! You can also use the bookmark feature to follow a conversation that you have started in the comments on a post.



Share: Click this button to share your post to another Community.


Rules for sharing:

  • Students can only share their own work between Communities of which they are a member.
  • Teachers can share their posts or any posts written by their students to the Main Stream, the Teacher Community, or any Community of which they are a member—a convenient way to share examples of excellent work between classes or with other teachers.


Clicking the share button will open a shadowbox containing a new post box and the post being shared. At the bottom of the box is a Share this post to drop-down menu that allows you to select the Community with which you’d like to share this post. The default option shares posts to the Main Stream.


Options: Click this button to see all available options for the post. Depending on who created the post, these may include: EditView teacher feedback, and/or Send messageNote: If posts are being moderated, any edited post will be resubmitted for moderation. 


Comment Box: Below the post is a comment box you can use to join the discussion by typing your thoughts clicking Add comment.


Note: In the case where comments have been turned off in a Community, this box will not show.
